Critical Delays in Emergency Care
Every week, patients die in ambulances because they cannot access care in a hospital in a timely manner. Often, hospitals sit on their capacity and keep patients waiting in life-threatening situations because they don't know which hospital has space. These delays are costly, in terms of the patient's life and care resources. The bigger crime, however, is that delays come not because of a lack of medical information, or the lack of knowledge on how to treat a patient. They come because information is not available in real-time when it is most urgent.
The primary issues are as follows:
Seemingly never-ending delays in emergency case admissions
Uncertainty regarding the availability of beds
Hospital bed capacity information is not actively had or shared
Hospital finding delays because hospitals have certain specialties (e.g. maternity, pediatrics)
Families remain lost, and waiting, without timely and necessary information
Watching a family member get worse inside an ambulance is hard, especially when they could die on route, not because the care they need isn't available, but because we've lost sight of how to get it.
Solution
Smart Hospital Bed Booking & Analytics
BedSync is a real-time hospital bed availability and analytics tool that enables patients, paramedics, and families to act quickly and intelligently in an emergency.
How BedSync makes important decisions easier:
1. Search for a nearby hospital using current availability and distance
2. Track bed status in real time to prevent last-minute rejection
3. Hospital data, such as ratings, wait times, ICU capacity, and specialties
4. An interactive emergency map that directs users to the closest option
5. Quicker communication between ambulances, hospitals, and caregivers
BedSync guarantees that patients:
1. Obtain treatment more quickly
2. Get to medical facilities that are genuinely prepared for their case.
3. Steer clear of rash, blind decisions and emotional panic.
4. Receive better outcomes through efficient care routing
UX Strategies used in designing the app
A highly accessible application with clean and easy user accessibility is super important since in healthcare, time is life
Clean Onboarding and UI: The application must be super accessible and have smooth onboarding helping people with limited electronics knowledge won't face challenge accessing it.
Colors: Green instantly signals health, calmness, and trust, helping users feel safe and cared for while navigating through the app.
Immediate access to required information: All important information regarding the hospitals must have good contract to help accessing them faster and easier.
UI Elements along with text: Including icons is highly important along the simple text. This too improves navigating experience better for the users.
